Amazon will launch “The Family Man,” a terrorism drama starring Manoj Bajpayee this September. Bajpayee will be seen as a middle-class man working for an intelligence agency who has to battle terrorists while protecting his family from the impact of his demanding and low-paying job.

The series is produced and directed by the Bollywood filmmaker duo of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., whose credits include such titles as zombie comedy “Go Goa Gone” and comedy drama “Shor in the City.” The duo is producing the series via its banner D2R Films.

The cast also includes Sharib Hashmi Neeraj Madhav, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja and Shreya Dhanwantary. The series will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

James Farrell, head of international originals for Amazon Studios recently told entertainment media outlets that hopes are high for the 10-episode series.

Amazon’s two top-performing international originals from outside of the U.S. among U.S. viewers are both Indian shows, Farrell added.. “We know we have a big audience here. We’re super-excited about this one and there’s a lot more coming. … We’re super-bullish.”
