Ashok Amritraj’ Hyde Park will co-produce Gerard Butler’s action-thriller ‘Remote Control,” along with Butler and Alan Siegel of G-Base Entertainment.
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, who produced “James Bond,” will serve as the executive producers.
News reports in Deadline and Variety say that John Mathieson will direct the film from a script by Mark Burnell.
According to a synopsis of the film in Deadline, Butler, 50, will play Michael Rafter, “a former war correspondent turned corporate security consultant who gets caught up in a global conspiracy and finds himself fighting for his life against a powerful shadow organization. When his own identity is erased, Rafter has to go on the run with Tracy, a former lover who is also implicated in the conspiracy.”
Last year, Hyde Park launched a new division Hyde Park Entertainment Asia, headquartered in Chennai.
At the time, Amritraj told Variety that Hyde Park will invest strongly in the projects with production budgets for the series averaging at around $1.5 million per episode, and the features starting in the $5-7 million range.
