Kal Penn, others reveal new characters of ‘Mira, Royal Detective’

Actors Kal Penn and Utkarsh Ambudkar recently revealed a special sneak-peek of Disney Junior’s upcoming series “Mira, Royal Detective,” on their social media handles to coincide with Diwali.

Penn, who voices Mikku and Ambudkar, the voice of Chiku, were joined by Leela Ladnier (voice of Mira) and esteemed Bollywood dancer and choreographer Nakul Dev Mahajan, who serves as the Indian dance consultant on the series.

Set to premiere in Spring 2020, “Mira, Royal Detective” is an animated mystery-adventure series for preschoolers set in the magical Indian-inspired land of Jalpur. The series follows the brave and resourceful Mira, a commoner who is appointed to the role of royal detective by the Queen.

According to Disney, “Mira, Royal Detective” is an important show for the community because it features an all-South Asian cast, and highlights the rich, diverse cultures and customs of India.
