Manav Kaul has reportedly replaced Irrfan Khan in Amazon’s “Gormint.” The series, which was announced two years ago, was delayed due to Khan’s health.
He later stepped out of the show.
Directed by Apayya KM, the series is said to be a fictional political comedy. It also stars Shikha Talsania, Girish Kulkarni, Smita Jayakar, and Sulabha Arya in important roles. Created by Gursimran Khamba, “Gormint” is co-written by Khamba along with Dhruv Narang and Gaurav Mishra.
Khan will be next seen in “Angrezi Medium,” also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Madan and Pankaj Tripathi.
Kaul, on the other hand will be seen playing Saina Nehwal’s coach in the upcoming biopic directed by Amol Gupta, starring Parineeti Chopra in the lead role. Kaul, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor Award for “Tumhari Sulu” at the 63rd Filmfare Awards, has acted in films like “City Lights”, “Jolly LLB 2” and “Kai Po Che!”
Kaul debuted as a film director with “Hansa,: in 2012, for which he also wrote the screenplay. He made his acting debut in Hindi cinema with fantasy film “Jajantaram Mamantaram” in 2003, and has been lauded for his performance as a right-wing politician in Kai Po Che!”
