Priyanka Chopra once again proved that when it comes to oomph, glamor and bold choices in fashion, she is way ahead of the curve.
Chopra who attended the 62nd Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Jan. 26, with her husband Nick Jonas, wore an ivory Ralph & Russo gown with a plunging neckline all the way to her belly button, which she had adorned with a crystal stud.
The gown had tassels attached to the sleeves and featured a mermaid-style hem with almost invisible floral detailing in pastel pink. The look was teamed with soft brown smoky eyes along with a generous dose of mascara and pulled together with diamond-encrusted earrings. Jonas, on the other hand, was seen in a gold suit and gold dress shoes.
For the pre-Grammys party, Chopra stepped out in a Nicolas Jebran gown from the Beyond Infinity collection. The champagne-colored satin backless dress also had a train.
But that’s not all. Chopra joined a host of celebrities who paid tribute to NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who, along with his 13-year-old daughter, and seven others, died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, earlier that day. The Indian actress took a moment to style her decorated nails with the number ‘24’ on her index finger. That number belonged to Bryant, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers for 20 years before he retired in 2016. “RIP Mamba,” Chopra shared on Instagram story with a purple heart emoji, alongside an image of her tribute.
Also spotted on the red carpet was Grammy-winner A.R. Rahman, along with his son Ameen. On his Instagram feed, Rahman posted a few glimpses of the night, including a tribute of Bryant, and a photo of him and his son with singer and songwriter PJ Morton, who is also part of pop band Maroon 5. Last year, Rahman went to the Grammys with his daughter Raheema. Rahman won two Grammy Awards in 2010 - Best Compilation Soundtrack for a Motion Picture (“Slumdog Millionaire”) and Best Motion Picture Song (“Jai Ho”).
Lilly Singh was also seen walking the red carpet in a chartreuse-colored, one-shoulder gown from Georges Chakra. But the highlight of her ensemble was her transparent clutch filled with Skittles. Singh, the host of NBC’s “A Little Late with Lilly Singh,” shared photos and videos of her sharing the candy straight from her clutch with photographers and reporters at the red carpet. “Sharing is caring,” she wrote.
