Aziz Ansari is headed to India. The Indian-American actor and comedian will perform in Mumbai and Delhi later this month as part of his international stand-up tour titled “Road to Nowhere” — his first tour since sexual assault allegations against him broke out in January 2018.
He was accused by a 22-year-old photographer who claimed that the comedian forced her into having oral sex with him and engaged in other forms of sexual misconduct during the night they spent together.
Speaking anonymously spoke to Babe, the woman said she went on a date with Ansari, and ended up crying in an Uber on her way home. At the time he responded to the claims stating he was “surprised and concerned.”
In February this year, at a pop-up show in New York City, Ansari publicly addressed the allegations for the first time. “It made me think about a lot, and I hope I’ve become a better person,” he told the audience.
According to Ansari’s official website, he will perform two shows in Mumbai and New Delhi from 24-26 May.
Will Ansari modify content for the desi audience? Will they accept him? Only time will tell.
