She is an actress, an activist, a businesswoman, a producer, a wife, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a sister and a friend. And now it seems like Priyanka Chopra wants to wear another hat: that of the prime minister of India.
But it’s not that she has political aspirations just for herself; she would love to see her husband Nick Jonas in the White House as well. “I would love to run for prime minister of India,” she told UK’s Sunday Times.
“I would love Nick to run for president,” she said. “I don’t like the things associated with politics … but I know that both of us really want to make a change.”
Chopra, 36, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since December 2016, also shared that she has “tried to be apolitical all my life because I like to cheer for humanity,” and voted in the recent Indian general election.
Meanwhile, People reported that although Chopra recently talked about her husband’s political aspirations, the Jonas Brothers singer “has made his fascination with the presidency known since the very beginning of his career.”
According to the report, Jonas was 12 when asked on a CBS show what he wants to do when her gets older, had replied: “Maybe I’ll be president or something.” And he even had a nickname — “Mr. President” — which he told People, he got, because he would sometimes be bossy.
