It’s a wrap for WLP’s summer internship in D.C.

Washington Leadership Program Scholars with Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, during their final week of summer internship in Washington, D.C. The interns spent eight-weeks at either congressional offices or government agencies, for a structured leadership-training curriculum. The students gained a firsthand view of the policy-making and legislative process, as well as gained access to high-profile South-Asian leaders in the nation's capitol. In their last week, the scholars enjoyed desserts with former Maryland State Delegate Sam Arora and former Maryland Delegate Aruna Miller and a farewell dinner. They also heard from FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and Sri Srinivasan, United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, among others.
