Long Island group donates $15,000 to fight hunger and homelessness

The India Association of Long Island donated $15,000 to the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) at its annual Diwali Food Drive held Nov. 10 at the Mary Brennan Inn in Hempstead, N.Y. The INN feeds the homeless and needy in Nassau County. At the Nov. 10 event, IALI president Lalit Aery along with Peter Bheddaha, a major donor of the food drive, presented the check to INN director Jean Kelly. N.Y state Sen. Kevin Thomas also attended the event.
